Who we are
Residual introduces companies that own business records to AI data buyers. This website is run by Residual (“we”, “us”), a business in formation; we'll name the legal entity here once it's registered. We decide how the information described here is used. Contact us about privacy at hello@joinresidual.com.
What we collect
What you type into our forms, and a summary of your records if you ask us to review them:
- Your answers to the qualification form: company name and website, country, industry, status, team size, the tools you use and since when, how work is recorded, and anything that could affect a deal.
- Your contact details: your name, work email, role, who can sign, and your phone number and who referred you, if you give them.
- Introductions you send us: your details and the company contact you introduce, with their permission.
- A review summary, if we review your exports: counts, dates and column headings, as set out below. Never the records themselves.
- How you found us: the page you arrived on and any campaign tags in the link, kept in your own browser and sent with the form.
We never ask for passwords or access to your systems. Your company's records never pass through this public website.
If we review your exports
Before an introduction, we may check what your records hold with a read-only review. You share your exports with us read-only, for example as a Google Drive folder. Our login-only portal, which only our team can open, reads them in the reviewer's browser and keeps a summary: how many messages, emails, records or files there are, the dates they cover, the column headings, and the names of the channels, mailboxes, objects and files counted. It does not copy, upload or store any message, email, document or file, and you can remove our access as soon as the review is done.
How we use it, and why we're allowed to
- To grade your fit and contact you about it. You asked us to, and you ticked the box agreeing to be contacted.
- To describe your records to buyers. The review summary is shared with a buyer only if you tell us to.
- To introduce your company to a buyer, only if you tell us to. Before we do, we agree in writing with you what is shared and with whom, under a mutual NDA.
- To pay referrers when an introduction leads to a deal.
- To run and protect the website, for example by blocking spam. This is in our legitimate interests.
We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
Where it's kept and who sees it
- Form answers are kept by Residual in our Google Workspace (a private Google Sheet and our email), seen only by Residual's two founders.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and briefly logs IP addresses and browser details for security.
- Nothing is sent to an AI data buyer without your written permission, and then only the details you approve.
- Professional advisers, or authorities where the law requires it.
International transfers
Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including the UK–US Data Bridge, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details and review summaries for up to 24 months after we were last in touch, then delete them. If you ask us to delete them sooner, we will.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, stop or limit how we use it, or give you a copy. You can withdraw your agreement to be contacted at any time. Email hello@joinresidual.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to your data protection regulator; in the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies and storage
We don't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Your browser keeps your light or dark mode choice, and a referral name and campaign tags if you arrived through a referral link, so they can be added to your form. Our fonts are served from this website, so loading a page doesn't contact any other company.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
